Today’s Greek
The trainer prioritises words that are due, weak or new. Recognition exercises are used early; stronger words move toward active recall, sentence completion and listening.
Daily target
Learn new words
New words are introduced before they enter harder recall exercises.
Active recall
Translate from English into Greek. Accents and spelling are checked separately so an almost-correct answer is still informative.
Listening
Hear the Greek word first. Type what you hear before revealing the written form and meaning.
Sentence completion
Recover vocabulary from a Greek sentence. This strengthens contextual retrieval rather than simple pair recognition.
Use it in your own sentence
This is productive recall: create a Greek sentence yourself, then compare it with the stored example and rate how confidently you used the word.
Matching
Useful for familiarisation, but deliberately not the primary retention exercise. Correct pairs remain visible and reviewable.
Word families
Group related words around a shared root or family. Explicit family labels are preferred; possible related forms are shown separately so uncertain morphology is not presented as fact.
Vocabulary library
This is now editable. Add one word, paste a list, import data, organise categories and families, or export a complete backup with learning progress.
Progress
Mastery is tracked per word. Correct answers increase spacing; mistakes bring words forward for review.
